'Old Adventures of New Christine' Writer, 'Freaks and Geeks' Star Hook Up With DreamWorks

Two great shows equal one great movie.

Jonathon Goldstein and John Francis Daley have been hired by DreamWorks to write Cal of the Wild, about a fake reality TV show star who's actually put into the wild. The movie will mock mainly the show Survivor.

Previously, Goldstein has written for the CBS sitcom The New Adventures of Old Christine, which stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Daley is probably most known for being in the comedy Waiting with Ryan Reynolds and Judd Apatow's cult classic Freaks and Geeks.

New Line also bought the screenwriters' The $40,000 Man, which comes nexy year and Burt Wonderstone. Writer and director of Apatow's The TV Set and Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story Jake Kasdan will produce with Benderspink Productions.
