New ‘Spider-Man 4’ Villain News

Todd Black, producer for the Spider-Man trilogy and The Taking of Pelham 123, in theaters this Friday, dished to The NY Post about everything Spider-Man 4.

First question was whether or not Kirsten Dunst would return for the fourth installment: the answer is yes. Director of the comic book adaptation Sam Raimi said in an interview last month that he was unsure about her coming back. Online rumors say that the script appears to have no wedding between Mary-Jane (Dunst) and Peter (Tobey Maguire) for numero cuatro.

As for the villain, Black said it wouldn't be a vampire, like in the latest Twilight craze, although he did say this: "We're just coming up with who the villain's going to be now. We'll be shooting in New York again. Trust me; people will appreciate who we pick, because it'll be a big part of New York." The producer confirmed that the villain would indeed be one from the comic series, not one created solely for the film.

Two guesses as to the evil dude according to the Post are Kraven the Hunter (foe who captures and torments Spidey) and Kingpin (head of big crime in Gotham), although a major problem with that choice is that he was already the bad guy in Fox's Daredevil.

Come May 6th, 2011, "Speidi" won't just mean Heidi and Spencer.
