Steven Soderbergh, who's sadly most known for directing Ocean's Eleven, Twelve and Thirteen is back to direct The Informant. It's about how Mark Whitacre exposes a corn company's cash scam. It stars Matt Damon, Patton Oswalt, Joel McHale (film debut, awesome), Frank Welker, Melanie Lynskey and Scott Bakula. This is an odd move on Soderbergh's behalf, coming off of the controversial The Girlfriend Experience, the two Che biopics and the 2006 Oscar-nominated The Good German since it is a comedy, not a drama. Scott Z. Burns, who worked with Damon on The Bourne Ultimatum, adapts Kurt Eichenwald's novel. The movie looks pretty awesome; it'll join my must-see list for fall along with Jennifer's Body and Precious. It's nice to see McHale from the E! clip show The Soup and his upcoming NBC series Community appreciated for his hilarity on the big screen. It comes out October 9th; check out the trailer from CinemaBlend below.
