‘MacGruber’ Movie is really Happening

I recently talked about Will Forte's Saturday Night Live sketch being turned into a movie, but I wasn't expecting the movie to actually come together so quick. Yes, the MacGruber movie is really happening according to Variety; Kristen Wiig will play Vicki, like she did in the sketches with Val Kilmer and Ryan Phillippe maybe starring in the movie as well. Will Forte, who will play MacGruber, will write the screenplay with fellow SNL scribes Jorma Taccone (also directing) and John Solomon. Lorne Michaels (SNL, Baby Mama, Wayne's World among many others) is set to produce with Relativity Media's Ryan Kavanaugh and John Goldwyn (Dexter) with Erin David (SNL, Hot Rod) and Seth Meyers (writer and star of SNL) serving as executive producers.

Wow. Again, good as a five-minute sketch, but a 90-minute movie? Really, Universal?
