First Image for ‘The Fantastic Mr. Fox’!

Roald Dahl was a genius (rest in peace, buddy). Think about it; this was the guy who wrote the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The BFG and adapted a James Bond movie (You Only Live Twice) and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang among many others. We've gotten a movie for his Matilda and James and the Giant Peach and two for Chocolate Factory, now Dahl's 1970 children's novel The Fantastic Mr. Fox, about a fox that steals chickens, ducks and turkeys from rich farmers, is being made into a feature film. Yes, an original Roald Dahl film! A personal hero of mine Noah Baumbach (The Squid and the Whale) and Wes Anderson-who worked with Baumbach on The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou-spawn the script with Anderson directing and producing. Bill Murray, George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Owen Wilson, Michael Gambon, Willem Dafoe, Adrien Brody, Jason Schwartzman (sweet, and sweet) and Brian Cox lend their voices for this stop-motion animated tale.

JoBlo has the first image of Clooney, Streep and Murray's characters (center, right and left) below. I hope this is as great as Coraline!

The Fantastic Mr. Fox opens in theaters November 13th.
