Charles Darwin Biopic ‘Creation’ to kick off Toronto Film Festival

The Charles Darwin biopic Creation will open the 34th Annual Toronto Film Festival on September 10th. "This intimate look at Darwin puts a human face on a man whose theory remains controversial to this day," said Piers Handling, the director and CEO of the festival. He also said that the choice was influenced by 2009 being the 200th anniversary of Darwin's birth. Other familiar-named movies that will play during the nine-day celebration are The Invention of Lying, Precious, The Boys are Back and The Informant!. The schedule will be final on August 20th.

The 34th Annual Toronto Film Festival plays through September 10th-19th.
