Seth Rogen is confirmed to play the Green Hornet superhero in his and writing partner Evan Goldberg's (Superbad, Pineapple Express) self-titled film, with Michael Gondry (Be Kind Rewind, Tokyo!) directing. Now according to Variety, Nicolas Cage is in pre-negotiations to play the gangster villain and Cameron Diaz to play a reporter along with Rogen's love interest. I'm not sure about this movie now; Seth Rogen and Goldberg have always done pot-smoking buddy comedies that had unknown stars, including Rogen himself as one of the leads. So big names like Cage and Diaz don't really fit into the picture here.

The Green Hornet comes out next summer.
