Terminator Salvation was no competition for the family comedy Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian starring Ben Stiller this Memorial Day weekend.

Opening Thursday and grossing an estimated $13.4 million, T4 was sure to be #1 at the box office. But the next day, Friday May 22^nd when Museum officially hit theaters, Museum beat Terminator's $14.8 million with $15.3 million. So by Sunday, when results were announced, the winner by about $10 million was Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian.

Museum grossed an estimated $53.5 million, more than 2006's Night at the Museum's debut of $48.2 million, although it opened at #1 as well.

Terminator Salvation raised an estimated $43 million. Not as much at Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines made opening weekend ($44 million, only about a million off), but sure more than The Terminator's $4 million and Terminator 2: Judgment Day's $31.8 million.

In third place, Star Trek fell 49% to an estimated $22 million. Behind Angels and Demons ($21.4 million), Dance Flick, which was also released this weekend, managed $11.1 million. Not as much as previous Wayans' movies White Chicks ($19.7 million) or Scary Movie 2 ($20.5 million). And Dance Flick was sure as hell nowhere near the first Scary Movie's debut of $42.3 million.
